ZANE DAVIDSON has an M.Sci. in Biological Anthropology and specializes in human evolution, which he instructed at multiple universities before moving to Portland and returning to work with younger students. Time spent professionally as an archaeologist in Romania, a park ranger at Olympic National Park, an environmental educator in multiple states, and program manager at numerous non-profits all on top of college-level teaching has made his history an ecological food web of its own. In the classroom he strives to foster excitement by combining experiential learning with playful open-mindedness and a humanizing approach, encouraging the notion that science surrounds us in everyday life. Outside of teaching Zane is an avid backpacker, cyclist, and traveler, usually with his human partner Sarah and dog-daughter Lily. Zane has been with Northwest Academy since 2021.
